Add captions
follow these in the app
Steps, not a prompt: open CapCut, add your video, tap Text, then Auto captions. Pick a style with a solid background and a big font. Then read every caption once.
What good looks like
Captions you have read and fixed. Names and product words are where it gets things wrong.
Cut the dead air
follow these in the app
Steps, not a prompt: select the clip, open the Edit menu, find Remove silences (the name varies by version), and apply it. Watch the result once at 1.5x.
What good looks like
A shorter video that does not feel cut. If a word got clipped, drag the cut a little wider.
Make the vertical version
follow these in the app
Steps, not a prompt: tap Ratio, choose 9:16, and drag the frame so the subject stays centred. Export both versions.
What good looks like
Two exports, one for each shape. Watch the vertical one on your phone with the sound off; if you can follow it, it works.

CapCut's free features move behind the paywall without warning. If a button asks you to pay, there is usually a free way to do the same thing one menu over.
